  • GEOGRAPHY Botswana is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa, north of South Africa. Botswana occupies an area of 581,730 square kilometers (224,610 sq mi). Botswana has land boundaries with Namibia, South Africa; Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

  • ECONOMY & BUDGET The economy of Botswana is currently one of the world’s fastest-growing. Traveling to Botswana is expensive. The best way to travel around Botswana on a budget is to rent a 4×4 vehicle with a tent on top and go camping. Roughly estimates per person/day to go with the private organized tour is $1,000-$2,000 and to go camping is $200-$300.

  • SAFETY Botswana is considered to be one of the safer countries in Africa. Petty crime does exist though so be cautious with your belongings and avoid walking alone in the evening. Be extra careful if you are camping in the wild at night, and NEVER leave your tent at night. It is strongly recommended to have Travel Insurance to visit Botswana.
