  • GEOGRAPHY Morocco is located in the northwest corner of Africa, just across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain. Algeria and Western Sahara border Morocco to the south and east and the country is about the same size as California. The High Atlas Mountains bisect the country with the coast to the north and the harsh but beautiful Sahara to the south. ​

  • ECONOMY & BUDGET Morocco’s economy is heavily dependent on the export of raw materials. Tourism is a growing element of economic development. Traveling in Morocco is affordable, with a rough estimate of US$20 – 80 per day/ person.isolated and vast, you will need to rent a 4×4 car.

  • SAFETY There’s a low rate of crime in Morocco, however, you should take sensible precautions. Watch out for pickpockets and scams in areas popular with foreigners. Take care when walking around at night. It is highly recommended to have travel insurance when traveling to Morocco.
