  • GEOGRAPHY Austria is a small, predominantly mountainous country in Central Europe, approximately between Germany, Italy, and Hungary. It has a total area of 83,879 km², about twice the size of Switzerland

  • ECONOMY & BUDGET The economy of Austria is a well-developed social market economy and one of the fourteen richest in the world in terms of GDP per capita. The estimated budget to travel in Austria is around $200 per day/ person.

  • SAFETY Austria is a very safe country. Visitors will generally have no trouble walking around at night in cities. Theft Take usual common-sense precautions: keep valuables out of sight. Pickpockets occasionally operate on public transport and at major tourist sights. It is still recommended to have Travel Insurance to Travel to Austria.
