Private Drivers from Orlando to Anna Maria Island
Another option to travel from Orlando to Anna Maria Island is by hiring a private driver. This is the most expensive option, but also, very convenient if it fits your budget. The average cost for a private driver is between US$480-550 and it takes an average of 2.5 hours journey. There are two options that I recommend:
With a private driver picking you up from Orlando, and dropping you up at Anna Maria Island, you will say goodbye to any concerns about your arrival at Orlando-Sanford (SFB) Airport and embrace the convenience of pre-booking a personalized transfer tailored to your group size (accommodating up to 8 individuals). With this option you will opt for the tranquility of traveling in a premium car or minivan, ensuring a comfortable and leisurely experience throughout your voyage.
Indulge in a worry-free arrival experience as you land at Orlando (MCO) Airport, by pre-booking a private transfer tailored to your group size (up to 8 individuals) for your journey to Anna Maria Island on the comfort of a premium car, minivan, or minibus. Look out for your courteous driver at the arrival lounge, identifiable by the personalized name board, and sit back and enjoy the swift and hassle-free transfer. Rest assured, if your flight happens to be early or delayed, the driver will stay informed of its expected arrival time and adjust your pick-up accordingly, ensuring a seamless transition.
Best Transportation Option While on Anna Maria Island
If you are planning to visit Anna Maria Island, it is also important to know what are the best ways to explore the Island. Keep in mind that the island has limited parking. I recommend renting a bicycle, or golf cart, or getting there very early if you have a rental car. And by “there I mean anywhere.
If you’re staying on the island for a week or a few days, you don’t really need a rental car. You can rent bikes, or a golf cart, or use the free trolley to get around the island from 6 am to 9 pm.
🚴♂️ RENT A BIKE: This is another fun and great way to transportation on Anna Maria Island. Getting to ride a bike on the island offers the opportunity to slowly explore around, and you don’t need to stress because of parking and traffic. You are on vacation, and there is no better way to move around than by renting a bike. Another great option is to rent an electric bike to explore the island.
🚗 DRIVE YOUR OWN CAR: Driving around Anna Maria Island is not recommended. In order to help the island “move” and avoid traffic, let the locals use their cars to go to work and school, and I recommend renting a bike or a gulf cart if you are planning to visit Anna Maria Island. If you want the flexibility to travel to the surrounding areas, then I recommend renting a car at the airport. I always use and recommend renting a car with this reliable source.
☀️ RENT A GOLF CART: This is a great and fun way to explore Anna Maria Island and get around. Driving around the island in a car sucks because of parking spots, and the traffic, especially on the weekends. You can book a golf cart online with AMI Golf Carts Rentals. They are a local business, offering reliable service.
🚎 PUBLIC TROLLEY: Anna Maria Island has a free Trolley Service that travels daily up and down the island between Anna Maria Island and Coquina Beach, from 6 AM- 10:30 PM, about every 20 minutes. It is a cool ride on a hot day. About every 2-4 blocks there is a Trolley Stop, most have covered seating while you wait.
Where to Stay at Anna Maria Island
Most of the rental properties at Anna Maria Island are houses. After I had stayed in several different accommodations on the island, my personal preference is to rent a house.
Renting a house provides you with a fully-equipped, private space to call your own. With a full kitchen, you have the flexibility to cook your meals and save money on dining out. Plus, you can choose a house right on the beach, giving you the added bonus of a “private” beach backyard.
